A Toothie Half Birthday

It's Luka's half birthday today - 6 months already!  She celebrated by cutting her first tooth two days ago with the second one is following closely behind.   Three months earlier than Roscoe had any teeth!  (but, then again, Roscoe got his first 6 teeth all at once...)

Check out how much she has changed each month:

Roscoe is thriving as a big brother and entertaining us more every day.  Here are just a handful of recent laughs he has given us:

* He stopped in his tracks the other day and, with a look of surprise, announced "my boogers falling out!" and then helped them out with his fingers...

* The Sunshine Song is a special one for us because he has loved it since he was just a wee one.  He is now singing along with us when we sing his favorite songs and sings with all his heart, "you make me HAPPY when skies are GRAPES!"

* The other day he noticed the tattoo on Ray's upper back (Baybayin lettering) and with his exaggerated look of concern he stammered, "who? letters? painted letters on Daddy's back?!"  Ray, ever the tease, played along and said "oh, no, Roscoe, can you wash them off?" and Roscoe made a valiant attempt while I stifled the giggles.

* He was dipping his naan bread in hummus the other day and announced, "dip-dip Thomas; more Thomas please!"

Happy Bark-day!

Our sweet little (well, not-so-little) pups-pups are 11 today!  They aren't the spring chickens they once were and, sure, they have trouble getting on and off the couch and get winded walking around the block... but they are sweet as ever and unbelievably patient with the toddler chasing and tail pulling and dog climbing.

To celebrate their special day we are showering them with attention (which, to be honest, seems to be confusing them and disturbing their 23 hour nap) and treats (which never gets old - especially when I hand deliver them to their dog beds).  I can't imagine our happy-chaotic home without them.

Speaking of that chaos... here are some photos for posterity:

What happens when Roscoe picks out his own outfit to go to the store:

So worn out from playing he almost fell asleep on the coffee table:

His new glasses (his old ones have disappeared...):

Clearly, Luka adores her big brother (and ya'll know Roscoe likes an audience...):
